favorite quote

It seems that the more places I see and experience, the bigger I realize the world to be. The more I become aware of, the more I realize how relatively little I know of it, how many places I have still to go, how much more there is to learn.

about

I was diagnosed with T1D in my senior year of college and jumped head first into how I could best manage my T1D. Due to my perfectionism and type A personality, I started really restricting the foods I was eating and activities I was doing to try and manage my T1D. This worked for a while but took a toll on me over time. Not knowing any other T1Ds, I turned to social media to try and find community and understand how others lived lives with T1D. I fell upon Lauren's IG account and started following along, and I really resonated with what she was sharing. A bit later, I enrolled in the group coaching program, and I saw such a significant shift in my management! I was living with less restriction, gained a fantastic community, and increased my knowledge around my specific patterns and how different variables affected my blood sugar so I could be more confident with my management.

After graduating from the Group Coaching Program and seeing all of the fantastic transformations during the program, I knew I wanted to do more within the T1D space, which led me to become an Enrollment Specialist at Risely! I live in Nashville, TN with my husband (we are high school sweethearts). We love going to concerts, and sporting events, trying new restaurants, and traveling the world together! I also enjoy cooking, exercising, and reading!
